Ms. Julia Bailey is at present a graduate student at the George Washington University. She's majoring in international affairs with concentrations in international development and Africa, and a minor in sociological anthropology. She is interested in education development and the evaluation of new and existing education projects in developing countries. She has significant experience in teaching both domestically and abroad. She tutored elementary school students in high school and has taught an ESL class to adult immigrants in Washington D.C. She spent the summer of 2008 in Cairo, Egypt, teaching conversational english to Egyptian teenagers. She also writes on a regular basis for the Washington, D.C. based International Center for Journalists, where she has interned for the past year. There, she conducts research and writes for the organization's website and publications such as the International Journalists' Network. Ms Bailey is a natural leader and has served in a number of leadership positions at GW. She is currently the president of Delta Phi Epsilon, the Professional Foreign Service Sorority at GW, an organization that provides professional development opportunities for women interested in international affairs. |
